Club Nights

Club Night – Typical Programme

Unlike most other camera clubs we hold meetings throughout the year with just a small break during the Christmas/New Year period. As a result our all inclusive membership fee represents excellent value for money especially as we do not levy a charge for room hire.

Typically on a club night the programme consists of either having a guest speaker, running a a monthly competition or having a ‘show and tell’ evening where members can get feedback on their images. In these cases, you will not need to bring a camera with you.

Half An Owl By Anne Phillips (taken on a workshop evening)

Sometimes we may have a ‘workshop’ evening where there is an opportunity to practice some photographic skills such as table top photography,  photographing birds of prey, or using flash. We may also sometimes have an evening away from the clubroom, so please check the Programme and Events page before coming.
The first part of the meeting generally lasts for about an hour. There is usually a break around 8:30 – this gives members the opportunity to view any images on display, socialise with each other, or chat to the visiting speaker/judge.

Tea/coffee and biscuits are provided at a nominal charge of 50 pence. We also hold a raffle most evenings to boost our funds. Participation is entirely optional.
